Orlando Cossia Castiglioni
As a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering graduate from Northeastern University, with minors in Mathematics and History, I bring a strong academic foundation and hands-on engineering experience. Graduating with Cum Laude honors and a GPA of 3.61/4, I have excelled in coursework such as Mechanical Engineering Design, Heat Transfer, and Mechanics of Materials.
I have gained extensive industry experience through co-op and full-time roles at Enlight Medical Technologies, NxStage, Insulet Corporation, and Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics. My responsibilities have included designing and building testing fixtures, developing prototypes, managing production parts with vendors, and creating CAD models and assemblies for R&D and manufacturing.
My technical skills include proficiency in SolidWorks (CSWA, CSWP), SolidWorks PDM, SolidWorks FEA, Ansys, AutoCAD, MATLAB, and Arduino IDE. I have hands-on expertise with tools such as the Instron machine, SLA and FDM 3D printers, manual mills, and injection molding machines. I am fluent in English and Italian, with beginner proficiency in Japanese.
Beyond professional experience, I have contributed to innovation through projects like the Tubender, a low-cost CNC variable radius tube bender developed during my capstone, and I am a co-inventor on a patent-pending pump mechanism for Insulet Corporation.
I am a dedicated and versatile engineer passionate about mechanical design, prototyping, and innovation. I am eager to continue leveraging my skills to solve challenging problems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive impactful results.
